In 2022, Audubon Food Pantry transitioned back to full client choice after using modified client choice distribution due to COVID concerns. Excitingly, Audubon was also able to reimplement their meal program.
In the client choice model, clients are able to choose which foods they take home with them. Pictured above, a woman chooses which meat she wants. Client choice is important because it honors the individual and gives them greater control over their health. Second Harvest also provided Audubon with resources on signage, flow, and healthy nudges. Healthy nudges help make the healthy choice the easy choice and increase client awareness about nutrition.
