Why
Healthy Food. Every Person. Every Day. This is Second Harvest’s vision, and to make this a reality, we invite you to partner in a creative, local way to bring community members together to impact hunger. There are kids, families, and seniors in our community struggling with hunger every day and we believe that’s a problem worth solving.
What
Second Harvest will partner with The Union Studios yogis to host a two and a half hour event consisting of one part service and one part yoga.
The Volunteering
From 5:30-6:30pm, paid attendees will participate in a volunteer food sort activity in the volunteer center. The activity will vary from season to season depending on what food is available, but may consist of sorting through fresh fruits, vegetables, non-perishables, building food boxes, repacking bulk items, and more. The volunteer center is equipped with music to provide a fun atmosphere and this will serve as a warm up before yoga.
The Yoga
For the second hour and a half of the evening, from 6:30-8pm, paid attendees, will be escorted back to the Second Harvest Kitchen for yoga led by The Union Studios yogis, light snacks and to learn more about Second Harvest. BRING YOUR OWN YOGA MAT
