Apple pie! What should the perfectly cooked apple pie taste like? Flaky, tender pie crust, filled with apples that are just the right amount of done, not too crunchy, not too soft, not too sweet and not overly spiced. Guest instructor, Jeri' Kanally, will demystify the art of making Apple Pie during this class. She'll also help you make your very own delicious, creamy Lemon Custard Pie with a graham cracker crust!
Class Details: During the hands on section of this class, you will be shown step by step instructions to make your own Lemon Custard Pie, which you will take home at the end of class. You will also watch Jeri' demonstrate how to make an amazing apple pie from scratch! This will include everything from selecting and cutting apples, making pie dough and assembling and baking the pie. Samples of both pies are also included.
The Kitchen at Second Harvest provides nutrition information, scratch cooking skills, budgeting, and more to people in our community who need a little help getting good food on their table and preparing it in an easy, healthful way.
