Learn to cook with locally produced, nutrient dense superfoods: peas and lentils. They are gluten-free, packed with protein, antioxidants, fiber and have a low-glycemic index. Lentils and other pulse crops can be incorporated into a variety of dishes familiar and new. In this class we will use lentils to create Tex-Mex Lentil Chili and Lentil Chocolate Chip Cookies as well as a Pico De Gallo salsa.
This is a hands on class, please wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes and tie long hair back.
We will sample the foods we make, but will not serve a complete meal.Class is for adults but teenagers may attend with a parent or guardian present.
Everyone is welcome, this class is designed mainly for clients who access Spokane area food banks.
