Healthy Food. Every Person. Every Day. This is Second Harvest’s vision, and to make this a reality, we invite you to partner in a creative, local way to bring community members together to impact hunger. There are kids, families, and seniors in our community struggling with hunger every day and we believe that’s a problem worth solving.
Second Harvest will partner with Icicle Brewing Company to host a two hour event consisting of one part service and one part suds.
From 5:30-6:30 pm, paid attendees will participate in a volunteer food sort activity in the volunteer center. The activity will vary from season to season depending on what food is available, but may consist of sorting through fresh fruits, vegetables, non-perishables, building food boxes, repacking bulk items, and more. The volunteer center is equipped with music to provide a fun atmosphere. Please wear closed toe shoes.
For the second hour of the evening, from 6:30-7:30 pm, paid attendees age 21 years or older, will be escorted back to the Second Harvest Kitchen for sampling. Sampling will consist of remarks made by a member of the Icicle Brewing Company team, attendees will have an opportunity to sample and then select a full pour of their choice. A light snack which will be prepared by The Kitchen and use a few of the Icicle Brewing Company beers will be served during the event.
