You don’t have to have professional cooking tools to create lovely, healthy meals. Learn how to cook at home, in a simple kitchen with everyday pots, pans, and cutlerly.  Chef Laurent will teach the basics of boiling, roasting, pan frying, seasoning, and more.

Chef Laurent is passionate about sharing how to put your heart into a dish that will become more than just food.

“I come from a blue collar family where noble cuts of meats were on the table only for holiday meals. We were fortunate to always have lunch and dinner and several courses no matter what the financial situation. The reason, my mom is an incredible cook, she can make a meal out of nothing. That is where my love of cooking comes from … my mom’s kitchen. I want to give that love back to you.”

This class is free for families struggling with food insecurity who can benefit from learning to cook simply with the foods they receive at food pantries and mobile food distributions. Second Harvest offers for-pay classes to the general public that help offset the cost of these free community classes.
