Canned goods are convenient, but dried products, such as beans and rice, can be up to four times less expensive when purchased in dry form. But without knowing the best ways to cook them, these food items might end up sitting in your pantry unused. Come to the Kitchen to learn how to stretch your dollar and turn dried beans, grains, and lentils into delicious meals!
In this class we will review knife and basic preparation skills needed to cook a variety of dishes at home and then jump into an hour or more of hands on cooking.
This is a hands on class, please wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes and tie long hair back.
Class is for adults but teenagers may attend with a parent or guardian present.
Please arrive to class 10 minutes early and enter the main lobby at the East end of the Second Harvest building.
Also, bring containers to take home any extra food.
Everyone is welcome, we are here to serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes.
Please contact Emily Franko at 252-6272 or Email with registration questions.
